A sweeping history of preaching by examining 20 great preachers. 2 women make the list--Hildegard of Bingen and Catherine Mumford Booth. A fairly easy read. Interesting. Entertaining. A useful, often insightful, but sometimes strained section called Implications follows each chapter. A conspicuous absence of later evangelicals like Finney, Moody and Graham.
