This poor book is actually quite good, and cursed with a chic-lit cover. I grabbed it at the library thinking I'd get something really light and fluffy for the weekend, and instead got genuine literary fiction. The author isn't quite there yet, but I'll watch for her future books. The plot is somewhat complicated, but it boils down to finding out who you are.

Read this after Snowed In----I just plain like the way Bartolomeo writes. There were vague similarities in the two books---half of a couple---married but with problems in the marriage so much so that other alternatives become especially appealing.
Christina Bartolomeo has written an interesting booking about personal growth. And doing things that challenge us to step outside the comfort zone. Whether it be learning to do something new or joining a club, without personal growth, we become stagnant. Sophie is a perfect example of that.

Snowed In isn't a "fluffy" Chick Lit book. There are too many meaty issues at the heart of this story, but it would be a good book for a book club discussion. There is a reading group guide in back to help show more lead discussion. show less
Loved this book! I could not put this book down and was truly sorry when I finished it. It is the perfect summer reading - a romantic comedy which puts me in the mind of "When Harry Met Sally". The main character attempts to handle her overbearing Italian family, her career, and her complicated romantic life had me rolling in laughter. In sum, a delicious book!
