How much can one man do to influence the world for Christ? How do we begin to measure the worth of his work? In this documentary, evangelism scholar Lewis Drummond examines the Billy Graham ministry phenomenon of the last half of the 20th Century—spiritually, culturally, and historically. As a personal friend and student of the Graham family, Drummond has compiled a book that is a great resource for any student, pastor, or layperson seeking a better understanding of the Graham ministry. show more Sermons ranging from the monumental 1949 crusade sermon in Los Angeles, to the more recent one in Jacksonville, Florida, fall 2000, are included on a multi-media CD packaged with the book. show less
A new take on the same old methods. This tries to look hip and new, but is simply a reappropriation of the reductionsitic gospel that comes to us out of modernity.
This addition to the Billy Graham universe of books is an excelent review of the teaching and doctrines of Billy Graham. Some of the factual data are incorrect, and one would think that the researchers and editiors would have been more careful about the data prior to letting this book go to print. A plus to the Graham legacy, this book is not worthy of the research and writing of Lewis Drummond.
Published by Kregel Publishers, I had to return my first copy because pages were falling out of the binding as I read through the book. I lost 25 pages out of the binding. Because I had purchased the book through Christian Book Distributers, they replaced the volume for me; I still had to pay shipping though! The book is not chronoloically organized, but is more or less thematic with chronology a close second. The book is not a light reading, but worth it (so far).
