The Fearless Baker: Scrumptious Cakes, Pies, Cobblers, Cookies, and Quick Breads that You Can Make to Impress Your Friends and Yourself by Emily Luchetti
Received from NetGalley (requested by me)
(NOTE: I haven't tried any of the recipes but come the holidays I will be trying many)
This cookbook had a ton of recipes that not only sound yummy and tempting but come with some great tips. DO NOT skip the introduction or you will miss a lot of great information! Here are a few tips but you need to pick up the book to get the rest:
Before you begin, read the recipe through to the end. Make sure you have all your ingredients and can allot the time show more required.
Measure out all your ingredients accurately and have them ready to go.
Don't improvise on the instructions--at least the first time you make a recipe (I am horrible at this but I think I will start keeping this recipe close to heart).
Best advice: Relax and Have FUN!
There is a section on techniques you need to know, stuff you need, and Ingredients ! Most of all this gave some definitions of terms I have seen in other cookbooks, now I have the process behind the term. Whip, beat, and cream are just a few of the ones that I found useful. The Baking Equipment list was fantastic and a bit of a wish list now. The Ingredients section was a list of staples to have on hand if you are planning on baking often.
Now to an example of the recipes included in this book:
Apple Crisp Bars
Honey Roasted Peanut Butter Cookies
Chocolate Cake with Peanut Butter Frosting
Spice Layer Cake with Cream Cheese Frosting
These are just a few of the recipes that I want to try!
This cookbook comes out May 4th and I highly recommend it to anyone who likes to bake!

A little pricey, but worth every cent. An amazing collection!
