2110 Modern Austria: Empire and Republic, 1815-1986, by Barbara Jelavich (read 13 Nov 1987) This tells in outline fashion of Austria from 1800 to 1986. It was interesting: especially new to me was the spur-of-the-momentness of Hitler's takeover of Austria, and how most Austrians apparently had long been in favor of Anschluss since 1918. Austria has had good years since 1945, being a neutral country with little defense costs. Not a momentous book, but fun reading.
