Any high school senior will tell you that the hardest part of applying to college is organizing their work and staying on top of the various tests, forms, letters of recommendation, and interviews that are required. Building on the success of the collegeboard.com Web site, Get It Together for College provides calendars, checklists, worksheets, and tips to help students do just that. This planner will take students from searching for colleges to a final checklist of what to pack for their show more dorm. A great resource for students who are searching for a possible major ...This book is arranged by Subject and Major first. It covers 198 majors in 26 broad categories. In Part I, broad categories covered include: Agriculture, Business, Communications, Humanities, Languages etc. Within each broad subject there is a description of each specific major like For Business Human Resource Management, Finance and E-Commerce are some of the options. It includes a broad description of the subject area show more and then a two page description of each major. Each section includes suggested courses for high school. Other majors you might like, questions to ask, career options and trends etc. There is a quote called “Insider’s viewpoint” from a current student. There is also at least one source for additional information that includes a website. Part 2 includes a brief description of majors. Each of these are about two sentences long. For example it says that Library Science “prepares individuals for professional service as librarians and information consultans. Part 3 is College Listings. Colleges are listed by Major and then by geographic area. Each Listing also indicates what level of degree is available. There is also a special section that outlines what colleges offer a combined bachelor’s and graduate options and in what subjects. show less
