this was helpful for seeing what will actually be covered on the hiset exam, and for preparing to prepare my students for the exam. It would be nice if I could be paid for all this prep work but that's not how teaching works. So I am proud to have sworn an oath to the Constitution of the State of California and that of the United States once again, and to be helping to contribute to educating our residents.

I bought this book to prep for the GRE, so for me the additional material for the GMAT and MCAT was mostly a distraction. (About 25% of the problems in the three practice tests weren't relevant to the GRE.) If you're prepping for more than one of these exams, this book is probably a great value. For the rest of us, the low price means it's probably still worth buying for extra practice; I just wouldn't rely on it as my only prep material.

This is a great book as far as the resources listed go. The book is not just a career advice book; it is a complete guide to all aspects of living ‘green’ from campus life to the importance of sustainability. It lists information ranging from expected salaries, job trends, demand and opportunities to academic and training programs that students can opt for. Each section on career paths includes the nature of show more the work, the alternate paths one can take and the earning potential of the job around in 2008. It also includes pieces written by people working on the path towards sustainability and why it is important. The entire book may not be relevant to a college-going student looking only for job advice; however, there is no lack of information for someone looking to embark into an environmentally friendly career. Another downside may be that it reads like a textbook and the language is a bit more rigid with less flow. But this isn’t altogether a bad thing because it gives the reader lots of information in short paragraphs. show less

While there is some great information to be found in this book, especially for teens that are not educated about finances in high school, there is a lot of filler information in this book. There is an entire section about the history money which does not offer any insights into how some people accumulated wealth. There is an entire section on how to make money at home by opening stores in etsy.com or having yard sales... suggestions I don't think are appropriate for what the book set out to show more do. Once you reach Chapter 5, that is where facts about how banks, credit, and taxes work start. Its an alright book, but I am sure there are better out there. show less
