Why did I buy this book? Well I guess it was in that period when i was trying to "make all knowledge my province" and it was only with the passage of time that I realised that like was too short for that. And anyway, I wasn't all that interested in fashion changes over the centuries...even where it might have involved costume design for the theatre. But Quite a good reference book if you are into this sort of thing. Though nearly all black and white drawings. Covers things like head show more coverings leggings and gloves as well as main costumes. But I'm now in the position of having to downsize my library and this book is one of the casualties. Pity but I won't be using it in th future. I give it three stars. show less

Why am I the only one who's got this book? It's got lots of illustrations and is highly informative. Fashion for children is even mentioned, though briefly.
