Mark Bates

Mark Bates, Director of Technology for second Rotation, is responsible for identitying, developing, and leading the company's technology roadmap, powering such applications as Gazelle.com. He was the Lead Developer of Mack, the Ruby-distributed web application framework. Mack later spawned the show more standalone library, Distribunaut (covered in this book). A leader in the Rubby distributed programming community, he has presented at RubyCont and regularly teaches classes on Ruby and Ruby on Rails.
