This was a great little book when it was released, and over four decades later it still holds up. Sometimes you just need a few more locations to flesh out a city, and this volume fully delivers. Detailed descriptions, maps, characters, and plot-hooks which can easily be used with any system. The maps are all provided with grids, though usually at 1 square = 1 foot, rather than 1 square = 5 feet which is more common today, but that is easily overcome. Each locale also has artwork depicting show more the building, as well as the principal character associated with it.

Personally I think it really shines as an idea book - there are plot-hooks which I can squirrel away to fit in other adventures, as well as characters which I can see showing up elsewhere. Some of the place-names are a delight - "House of Lavation," "Palace of Peaceful Repose," and perhaps my favourite "Slimon's Strolling Salmagundi Wagon.". It is from a different era, so it is more open ended and provides less handholding than is the inclination of more modern RPG writing, but I personally view that as a positive.

I would have to say if this isn't one of the most exciting and finest adventures for any roleplaying game system, it certainly ranks among the top 5.
