The beginning of "No Place Left to Hide" was instantly addictive, and I was hooked within moments. The pacing in both the past and present-day chapters was fast and furious, packed with twists and turns that kept the tension building, especially in the present timeline.
While most of the characters were far from likeable, it was still hard not to get drawn into their messy lives and secrets. When Brooke hosted a party last summer and a girl ended up dead, the drama really kicked off. Now, show more someone is digging for the truth, and they want revenge. Unfortunately for Brooke, some secrets refuse to stay buried, and if hers is exposed, her carefully curated image could fall apart.
Some parts of the story were a bit over the top, but the writing was suspenseful and atmospheric, making it hard to put down. I especially enjoyed the dual timelines, with each memory revealing more shocking details about what really happened that night. As for the epilogue, it was absolutely perfect. I usually find epilogues unnecessary, but this one hit the mark. I loved it!
Overall, "No Place Left to Hide" was a fun, drama-filled thriller that I’d happily recommend to students or readers who enjoy high-stakes mysteries with a twist. show less

This was such a crazy ride! This dark and twisty YA thriller starts off strong and hooks you right in. Sure, the writing is quite YA-ish, and there are a couple of minor plot holes, but I honestly didn’t mind them at all. I was so gripped by the story that I stayed up late reading it.
Okay, so the police in this story are pretty much incompetent. But I suppose it works because most small-town cops are probably like that, what with a lack of resources and everything. And the teens breaking show more into a police station and taking matters into their own hands is a bit OTT, but I was here for the thrill and chaos and HAD to keep reading!
The dual-perspective approach works so well. I think it added so much depth to the story and made the twists hit even harder. Speaking of twists... THAT ENDING! I did NOT see it coming, and I’m still thinking about it. Also, that epilogue...
If you want a fast-paced, edge-of-your-seat thriller, read this book. It’s an easy, thrilling read that kept me guessing the whole time. Highly recommend! show less

This novel was completely addictive, and I found it hard to put down once I started. Told through alternating chapters from Mary and Drew’s perspectives, I was hooked and fully invested in both of their stories.
Mary’s chapters were especially gripping, filled with a constant sense of unease that kept me on edge. Drew’s storyline was slower paced, but I really sympathised with him as he struggled to prove his innocence in the disappearance of his girlfriend. Both characters felt show more authentic, well-developed, and likeable, and I was wishing the best for them the entire time.
At first, the plot felt somewhat predictable, but there were twists and turns I didn’t see coming. The ending took me by surprise and left me heartbroken.
Fast-paced and emotionally intense, "That's Not My Name" is a compelling YA mystery that’s well worth the read. show less

You are presented with alternate narratives, Lola who cannot remember anything when she comes to in a roadside ditch at night, and Drew, who is under suspicion by nearly everyone after his girlfriend vanishes and he's the last person who saw her. The story bounces back and forth, each time a tiny bit more being revealed so you can start building your own conclusion. Even when plenty has been given to readers, I wasn't quite ready for what actually happened the night Lola vanished and the end show more result may well creep you out. It's told in a masterful manner. show less
