Of course J. A. Roger is one of my favorate authors of global history, so this one did not disappoint. It was originally published as a series of articles and as a book in 1923.

Here are some things that you may have not known about U. S. history...according to the author

thousands of negro klansmen were used as spies on other negroes and northern whites

the kkk proper was began in 1865, by six young men, solely for fun and frolic and was modeled after college fraternity, to play upon the show more supertitions of the local townfolk

once general forrest and jeff davis was chosen as the heads along with the membership mainly of ex confederate soldiers it became a violent terroristic secret organization whose aim it was to take over the army, navy, us treasury, re-establish slavery in the north, black slavery first, then white slavery.

presidents woodrow wilson and andrew johnson were pro ku klux, and the southern confederates were Loosers, vendictive, bitter, and bad sports, who used the law, known as black codes etc to win the war that was lost.

after the north sacked the south, and unemployment was at an all time high, northerners came in to pounce on the south economically using tricks of exploitation.

the north and the republicans only interfered with the south because it was bad for big business.

A small book worth its weight......

What is Afrika's Gift to America??? In short The Molasses Trade, which actuated the Rum Trade which was used as an exchange for Africans on the African West Coast. Therefore, it was the sale of Africans in the New World...the Slave Trade, that laid the financial foundation of the United States.

Why was the book written??? "This book comes in answer to the revival of anti-negro literature that followed the ruling of the US Supreme court against segregation in the public schools." additionally show more as a answer to the violence, vengence against private individuals, all the bad mouthing of African Americans by public officials and academician etc., racial violence, and riots during the fifties and sixties.

From The African Background to the expected independence of African nations, it is a wealth of information that is chocked into 272 pages.

Great pictures, great references and a monumental piece of work......

I think it was a very good book that explains the diffrent races, and helps to clear up the racist thoughts many people may have about diffrent races. It is boring though but you can learn from it.
Although I love all works by J. A. this one may be too speculative and without the necessary research and accuracy done that has come to define his work. The only prez that has been proven to be truely and authentically black is president warren g harding whose life and times was recently updated by marsha stewart in Death by Blackness. However it is interesting to read anyway....
