This book showed me in my teenage years that Christianity was simply one amongst many world religions. I found that the author's approach was however syncretistic and anthropological rather than analytic and philosophical, and that it did not point the way towards an intelligible world view.

Feeling stimulated, though dissatisfied with the book led me on a quest for a principle, philosophy or practice overarching or transcending all merely adventitious or sectarian prejudices and attitudes, a show more quest that was eventually successful when I discovered an effective Buddhist sangha or spiritual community.
