Charles Henry Mackintosh (1820–1896)

Finished reading the book of Numbers in the Old Testament today, and along with it, this book. I am reading very slowly through the Bible with various commentaries. These help me to stop, pause and reflect on God's Word. New treasures every day, and every day God's love and concern confirmed. C.H. Mackintosh is somewhat difficult for a modern reader to get through, and I don't always agree with his thoughts, but often there are little nuggets and gems of wisdom. Volume 1 & 2 are my favorite in the series of commentaries on the pentateuch by MacKintosh. Many practical insights into our walk with Christ. I've been able to share much of it with my children.

Waded through it at Bible school but read through it again recently for the fun of it.
