Quite simply, a wonderful read. I quite enjoy Ironside's style, and have very little difficulty in remaining motivated in reading his books. These commentaries are excellent reading. I look forward to reading others in the series in the future.
These books in particular are very good for what I would call devotional reading. They are not overly heavy or saturated in detail. To be honest, that might be one of my only complaints with the books; not particularly deep. Still excellent writing for show more general reading, Bible knowledge, and a supplement to one's walk with God. That might be the best purpose of these books; to be used as a sort of devotional reading alongside your normal Bible reading.
The lack of depth means these books do not really lend themselves to heavy study, and so I would not necessarily recommend them for that purpose. However, I don't believe that is what Ironside was after. They read as a collection of lectures, and to that end they are very good when read with that in mind.
I would recommend for anyone who wishes to gain a good survey of knowledge for the given books. For deeper study other methods should be pursued.
Overall, a good set of books. I will revisit them for reference material. show less

The Revelation of Jesus Christ is the only book of the Bible which begins and ends with God's blessing pronounced on those who read and keep its words. Realizing that God would not promise a blessing on those who keep what they cannot hope to understand, Dr. Ironside has purposed and ably succeeded to assist Christians in appropriating every part of this rich New Testament book. The value of the sound and logical explanation is enhanced by the consistent application of the profound truths show more for practical Christian living. The author shows remarkable insight into the significance of the Apocalyptic symbols, all of which he has found explained or alluded to elsewhere in the Bible. show less
Informative, succinct, and thankfully a short work! Exactly the history primer I needed for the intertestamental period.
Here H.A. Ironside, respected 20th Century Bible teacher, preacher and author, tackles the weighty issues of the book of Romans. The Apostle Paul has laid out the heart of the Gospel in his letter to the Roman Church and Ironside gives to us a clear explanation for the need of the gospel, the problem of sin and the triumph of grace. Other topics include God's dealings with Israel and the believer's relationship with fellow-believers and men of the world and his relationship to government and show more society. Like all master teachers, Ironside is able to take very complex issues, break them down and present them in a readable and understandable form. show less
