I read this book slowly as spiritual reading. There are several essays on Biblical spirituality with subsections that could be read in a short sitting. The book is rich with meditation that includes knowledge of Biblical times and attention to details that bring out the spirituality of various characters like Jeremiah, Amos, and Hosea. I will definitely read this book again, next time in conjunction with reading the various book of the Bible that are discussed separately in the book. show more Included at the end of the book is a general index of terms and also a Biblical index of various Bible sections together with the pages in the book that refer to those sections.
This book has enriched my understanding of how different Biblical authors experienced God and made me appreciate the benefit of the variety of writings to us who read the Bible which is not one book, but many books. show less
