This novella is hot on more than one level. There is the relationship, or lack thereof, between Rob and Michael, who are both desperately trying to get what they think they need. Tempers flare and emotions run high enough to keep me glued to the pages. Then there is some very hot, definitely kinky sex with wax play as the central 'activity', if you can call it that, which links the two main characters physically and emotionally. Since their main issue is around trust, this is a very fitting show more tool to use for Rob and a good 'test' for Michael.

I felt for Rob, more than I usually do for a Dom. He has made an awful mistake, and is still paying for it ten years later. He does everything he can think of to gain Michael back, but the sub isn't making it easy for him. This is entirely justified, in my opinion, but it is still very hard on Rob. It was fascinating to see the effect of Michael's continued refusal on Rob, and the fact that he didn't lose it or flip out speaks volumes about the type of ma he is.

Michael has dealt with the emotional pain of Rob running away from what they could have had the best way he was able to. A consummate sub, he has become a professional, avoiding deeper entanglements while still yearning for them. He is afraid of more disappointment when Rob comes back into his life, but fighting what he wants to have is extremely hard. He's a very strong man, so it is a very interesting process to watch.

If you like BDSM stories with a good measure of psychology thrown in, enjoy reading about vulnerable men on both sides of the D/s equation and want to find out more about wax play, this might be a story for you.

Fans of Violet Summers know when they open up the pages of a book by this dynamic author they’re in for an extremely sensual story that is insightful, heartbreaking and magical. Velvet Submission is a shining example of this. From the very first sentence, this remarkable story doesn’t skip on details or the emotional element of the characters and amazingly keeps the sexual energy very much alive and pulsing. Readers will delight in the well-written and vibrant personalities of Gregori show more and Megan that continue to grow within the pages of the story. This perfectly matched pair is intelligent, formidable, passionate as well as vulnerable. The way the author wonderfully captures the sensuality and intensity of their emotions is compelling. Their powerful emotional turmoil as well as the sexy BDSM elements really seems to pull the reader into each scene. The sex is scorching hot and the edgy D/s play feels real. Clearly this author has done her research and helps the reader understand the psychological as well as the physical components of D/s. The connection between Gregori and Megan will touch the reader’s hearts and mind leaving them no doubt by the end of this story these two were meant for each other. The dialogue is sharp and realistic and works to compliment the action as well as the characters. Readers are going to enjoy cameo appearances by some characters from previous stories.

Warning, this is one book you are not going to be able to put down until the last word is read! The pages fly and readers will definitely be eager for more! Definitely another one for the keeper shelf!

: I had a really hard time getting into this book whereas the first book in the series I enjoyed immensely. I’m not sure why. The writing was fantastic and to the point, the way I like it. The characters were well thought out and the male characters manly and hot. A few chapters in the book became exactly how I wanted it to be. Full of drama and angst with a lot of hot sex.

Matthew has always felt show more somewhat inferior to his brother and sister. He knows he is a hard worker and is good looking but often lacked the self-confidence of his siblings. He did not realize that he enjoyed giving pleasure to other men till he was giving pleasure to Daniel. Matthew surrenders himself as well to Daniel in many ways.

Daniel is Matthew’s brother’s best friend. He is more serious and not as open with himself as Matthew or Shannon. Shannon is the apex of their triad. She keeps them all grounded and makes their relationship work. None of them were looking for a relationship but found one in the most unexpected places.

Once I got into the storyline it became more believable and interesting. The main focus of the storyline was on the relationship development but as well as the sex. The sex scenes were sizzling and were super hot. It read in a way that made you actually feel like you were an outsider looking in at their relationship.

I will definitely continue to follow these two authors in the future. I enjoyed this book as much as the first in the series. Their writing is clean and very vivid. I would highly recommend this series to anyone that enjoys a lot of drama with their sex.

This was such a good book and I really enjoyed it a lot. Within the first few pages things really heat up and it doesn’t stop. Meredith finds herself watching a situation that she shouldn’t and boy does she get an eyeful. You won’t be disappointed in the HOT department! This was a second in the corporate series, but no worries, I didn’t read the first one and I had no trouble following the story.

I really liked Meredith, the main female character, she was smart, funny, strong, vulnerable, and she didn’t go out and do something dumb in the middle of the night and get herself into trouble. I also liked Tony, the main male character. He was so alpha and sexy and strong. The one negative character he had was that he was really pushy telling people what to do. I didn’t like that. I thought it was ironic that at one point in the story he finally understood why his family didn’t like his well intended help.

Many of Meredith’s and Tony’s family members made appearances in the book, but all were secondary characters. A few, such as Meredith’s younger brother, could have been fleshed out more to enhance the story.

The one problem with the book that I had was that there were a lot of questions that I wanted answers to that I didn’t get till the very end. When I mean at the end, I really mean AT THE END, like within the last few pages. It was distracting for me to not know if these questions/problems were going to be answered or not. I’m the kind of gal that likes to know as much information as possible.
