Decent neo-noir that despite a great central performance from Linda Fiorentino doesn't quite gel into a fully satisfying whole. Fiorentino plays the cynical and amoral Bridget Gregory who makes off with her husband Clay's (Bill Pullman) ill-gotten drugs money. Hiding out in a backwoods town she begins to manipulate the naïve Mike (Peter Berg) into killing her husband. Steve Barancik's plot and script is good but is reliant upon too many improbable twists to make it work. John Dahl's show more direction is sharp but is lacking a certain noirish flourish with Joseph Vitarelli's excellent score helping to make up for that. Linda Fiorentino's vicious, foul-mouthed femme fatale, who mercilessly manipulates all the men around her, steals the show, however, and gives "The Last Seduction" a classic noir character. show less
Rolicking hard film noir. Any film that can twist and turn the audience at will so it both laughs and finds perfectly credible Dennis Hopper as an assassin saying "Choose Life, man!" is doing its job.
