The usual hodgepodge and repetition of this blog, but I always seem to find enough interesting to keep me reading. In order: a Kafka letter compaining of writer's block, a Ladybird book collector, the death of Sanford Smith, the father of the New York ABAA book fair., a new exhibition of bookbindings, book arts and artists' books, a Jules Feiffer Collection, an imaginary books exhibition at the Grolier, and, what is most startling, Biblio luanches The Auction and Book Sales Archive, to show more provide Auction results along the lines of the old ABPC! show less
These three outings are typical diverse coverage of auctions and museum exhibitions. An Asian Fine Art Sale, a library of polar exploration and Nordic history and coverage on a Rackham, Santa Claus mystery. This is followed by Einstein correspondence setting an auction record, which seems to happen quite often at big-name auctions, Charlie Brown Christmas production art and Marianne Faithfull's Diaries. In January the Rare Book School's summer 2026 course schedule is revealed in detail, an show more exhibition at the Eric Carle Museum on photography in children's books is announced, and highlights are shown from the Heritage tv and movie tie-ins comic auction. Finally, we find that new celebrations are planned to mark 40 years of 'Poems on the Underground'. show less
this blog has a very inconsistent appearance. Last seen in June, then this short one on October 30 and nothing since. Auction highlights of magic books and a carbon-copied letter album from Vonnegut. A printing press used in Chile during the time of Chilean independence in early 19th century will be exhibited at the Museum of American Independence in Philadelphia and five rare travel books from Peter Harrington's recent catalog rounds out these short notes.
An eclectic mix of news, auction reports, museum exhibitions, upcoming auctions, highlighted young booksellers and librarians. About half of these short articles will appear in the next edition of Fine Books & Collections magazine.
