I liked the lead character, Tristram, aka Sam. He is a typical young man, but he''s got some inner drive to him.
Sam and his father, Duncan, move from NYC to upstate when Duncan gets a great deal on a house in the woods outside a small town. Soon, Sam begins to wonder just why the house was so easy to buy. Perhaps it is haunted?

"The Blooding" by Patricia Windsor starts out fine. Maris is a teenager who wants to escape her mother, and when a chance to be an au pair in England pops up, she takes it. She soon finds out that all is not what it appears to be. This is a depressing book, and includes suicide. The mother of the children seems ignored and put down by her husband. The father shows way more interest in Maris then he should. (And out of nowhere she returns that interest.) He 'bloods' her- making her a wolf show more like him.

It goes downhill from there and this story does not end happily. I would NOT recommend this book.

Nightwood follows a few teenagers as they camp in a cabin in the woods rather than going on a field trip to Washington, D.C. They were enjoying their freedom when things begin to turn scary and creepy. Soon, these teenager find themselves being chased by a creature of some sorts, abducted, and held prisoner... maybe even killed!

I thought that the suspense was very well written and believable for the most part. I would definitely recommend this book to someone looking for a quick, scary read.
This was the first book on my Goodreads list when I started my account more than 3 years ago. I finally got to it. I didn't feel close to the characters, they seemed very distant. And I don't know about you, but if someone turned me into a werewolf, I think I'd have stronger feelings than Maris had. She seemed very immature.
