Glorious black-and-white photos of distant places in the universe (OK, not so distant that we can't get photos of them with a telescope, but distant enough that we can't easily get there). Text is minimal, but informative. The book is mostly notable for being awe-inspiring and leading toward increased appreciation of not just the size but the beauty of the universe.
This book uses spectacular photography to show the colours of stars, galaxies and nebulae. It lucidly explains what colour is and how it reveals the physical nature of astronomical bodies
This book is huge - like super coffee table book size - and has such amazing pictures. Some informative text, too.
