Jock Purves (1901–1988)

Jock Purves has produced this absorbing book, an autobiography concerned with the most colorful and dramatic period of his life, the years spent in Lesser Thibet and on the Indian-Afghan Frontier. This is a relatively small book that has about 10 short biographies of the Scottish Covenanters. The faithful courage of these martyrs is a powerful and moving witness. While it is in the same genre as foxes book of martyrs, I enjoyed this book even more for the rich detail it offered.

This is the combined works of "Sweet Believing" 1948 and "Fair Sunshine" 1957.
