A really interesting look at the game of baseball. It's not about 'organised' baseball--it's about baseball as played on sandlots and local fields and playgrounds. It's about players like you and me.
Being a history of baseball, primarily addressing its organization and administration, from the foundation of the modern structure in 1901 through the 1920's. It is definitive as far as its coverage of these structural matters, but if you just want to read about games, players, and pennant races, there are better choices.
