A lot can be learned about color from this book and its amazing photography. it shows what can be done with color in room decoration, and how colors blend together in nature as well. It has some great ideas for combining colors, and several pages of color palettes using various fabrics. The author says this book is a way of sharing her involvement with color and the way it enhances and enriches so many aspects of life. Looking at the pictures makes me want to get involved with color too.
I really like Tricia Guild's style but this particular book was very disappointing. The entire book could basically be just one house; there was almost no variety in each layout. Everything was either brightly-colored sleek minimal furniture in a white room, or white sleek minimal furniture in a brightly-colored room. And although the palettes varied a bit, they all contained her classic turquoise-fuschia-orange combo. 25-30% of the book was floral arranging for dinner parties, which isn't show more what most readers will be looking for. And it was rather cheesy that whenever the author appears in her layouts that her outfits are carefully coordinated to match. Some amazing fabrics though, with a nice shopping guide in the back. show less
