Most of the book is sectioned by questions, then the answers, such as "What is echolocation?" The author spends a lot of time discussing the need for bat conservation because bats are a big part of ecosystems as they spread seeds more effectively than birds. Great guide and visuals to Earth's fascinating creatures. Doesn't chronicle every single specimen ever known- but this encyclopedia can serve as good reference material- be it a quick lookup or to study. The physical book could easily double as a ship's anchor because it so massive and heavy.
