This is a typical 50 Shades-like book, it wasn't very emotionally engaging though. This is probably because "I love you"s were issued within three fucking days. We're just being introduced to the characters and already they're head over heels talking about forevers. Fucking ridiculous!!!

In addition this book was jam backed with grammatical errors and typos. There were too many "to" instead of "so" to count, misplaced or missing quotation openers, all manor of errors. Are there no more show more editors worth their pay any longer? Don't any of these authors have readers before publishing?!

The characters were all ok, as was the story, everything (aside from the technical) was just ok. Nothing really wrong, nothing really wonderful. Some of the dialog was good! Some of the scenes were very good, but as a whole, this book was just mediocre with added disappointment of terrible typos.

I'll be reading the next installment as I am still interested, but if it doesn't pick up (and slow down!) by then I'm 'out of here'.

Well, this was again pretty predictable and still I felt no real connection to anyone. In addition there were some of the worst editorial blunders I've yet read... My favorite was at one point in the story Izzy is wearing a cream camisole and denim skirt which she changes out of and leaves the house in "a black clinging dress" but the next morning awakes thinking..."I don’t remember much, besides falling asleep on the train. He must have carried me inside. I’m wearing my camisole top and show more underwear. But my denim skirt has been removed. So, at some point, I presume, James must have undressed me." Not only did he apparently undressed her, but half redressed her as well! Jesus, do any editors actually read the material before sending off to print?

Also I had issue with the character development of James. He's touted as a control freak and a take charge, competent kind of man. And yet not once did we actually see these personality traits in action. Every circumstance that unfolds he's pretty weak and useless. He's unable to control anyone or anything, he's also really fucking stupid (>>>>>>>>>SPOILER: for example, he decides to use Izzy as bait, but doesn't warn her. He starts making out with Izzy right next door to the very woman who could wreck them ... how is this smart in any way?! END SPOILER
I will say, however, that I did actually enjoy this book, this one more than the other. And I'm already starting the next.

I absolutely adore this series. James Berkeley is just yummy! I really liked the little mystery that was thrown into this one that just elevated the relationship between James and Issy.
I can't wait to read the next one and see what it is that Issy is hiding. James is trying so hard to break his old habits and be honest and open with her, but there is something she is holding back. What is it?
The supporting characters in this book were so well written too. Callum is so sweet and Natalie is show more such a perfect Diva/bitch. I loved the dynamics created! show less
