Sweet HOLY Titfire.
I don't know whether to rave about this book or scream, pull my hair and throw a tantrum. To say that this book sunk its claws into me would be an understatement. From the beginning, I was intrigued. Granted, the Name Vaughn threw me off because it took me a second to realize that Vaughn was a woman because I have only known men with that name. Yet, her resilience and strength as she defended another woman had my inner feminist roaring. I might as well have been wearing a show more pink hat and participating in a Woman's March.
From how Vaughn handled herself and how that first encounter ended I knew that it was going to be foreshadowing the direction that this book was going to take. Even knowing that that encounter would eventually be the pinnacle of the story still did not have me prepared to the fact that it would mean it would lead to a cliffhanger. AND BY cliffhanger, I MEAN CLIFFHANGER. I wasn't prepared. All of the years that I pursued my Literature degree and deconstructing stories should have prepared me. It was as if I wasted 50k in my education because it was all for naught. Not really, I am just being temperamental and pouty because I am not sure I can wait to find out how this story is going to resolve itself.
I need answers. I need to know what is going on with Ryker. No seriously, I need to know what is going on with Ryker. If there was a zombie apocalypse, I would sacrifice my children if it meant that I had the answers. They are in their 20's they have lived a life so it is only fair that they take one for their dear old Mom. Just kidding...no I am not. #sorrynotsorry The connection between Ryker and Vaughn was hot. Like a Phoenix sidewalk in August level of hot. It wasn't just about the steam but their whole connection and time together.
The author was exceptional at creating characters that were amazing, backstory and all and filling in the blanks just as my mind was starting to ask the questions of how certain things fell into place the way that they did. I Liked that. This book is definitely going into my best of 2019. I just advise everyone to be prepared to have their hearts ripped out at the cliffhanger. I know it will be worth the wait for the conclusion but sweet lord it still stings. show less

Lily Archer’s trip to Italy, meant to salvage her marriage, quickly spirals into a night where fear and desire collide. What begins as captivity becomes a tense, intimate exploration of being truly seen after years of feeling invisible. I was pulled deep into Lily’s conflicted emotions: the guilt, the arousal, the confusion, and ultimately the unexpected strength she uncovers. Bromberg writes with an intensity that made me question my own reactions, and I appreciated how boldly she show more handles such challenging subject matter. While the ending felt a bit open, the novella lingered with me. It’s a controversial, boundary-pushing read, but gripping, emotional, and unforgettable. show less
I fell in love with Slade, I need one in my life. This book gave me all the feelings. Age gap romance done perfectly for me. Blakely is a woman I can relate to, she has her own struggles, and the way Slade helps her is the best way possible. Slade is not free of his own demons, but definitely they both complement each other. This book is more than a romantic age gap story, it will have you thinking about your own struggles, you will laugh and your heart will be squeezed in more way than one. show more A brilliant story one I'm sure you'll enjoy immensely, the audiobook is a fantastic way to experience this book as well, with great narrators. A 5 star! show less
