This is the book that introduced me to all the wonder that is TM Frazier. It is also where my love for the hero that isn't a gentleman came to fruition. There is just something about how she creates a leading man that is far from conventional but still manages to make me swoon.
This first book was unlike anything that I had read before. The premise that a girl who had no memory would have no idea how she came to be where she was at. I liked the connection that was instantaneous show more between Doe and Kind. Much like how Kind couldn't explain why she was the one for him, it just made sense despite how different they both were. That is a testament to this author's skill.
This first book is the beginning of their relationship before the careful bubble that they lived in came crashing in and Doe's past came back to haunt her. I highly recommend this book. Add in a couple of the best secondary characters and this book becomes even more outstanding. show less

Damn it! I really did not like this book! I did not like the H....he was everything that a hero is not!
"I fucked. I fought. I partied. I got wasted. I stole. I fucked. I tattooed. I sold dope. I sold guns. I stole. I fucked. I made fucking money."
Wow! What a hero! Everything that is abhorrent...everything I despise. And yet.... there is something about King that really got to me. Something basic. Under all his filth.... maybe he is worth redemption? I don't know....but damn it now I have to show more read the next book. And I don't want to because it's just not my kind of book. I really hate stories like this. With nasty characters and so many shades of grey that you can't tell who is the good guy and who isn't.
No one in this story is normal or good ....they are totally flawed and sad and lost and that pisses me off too!
That is why I gave this book 4 stars. Not because I liked it. But because the author made me want to find out what happens w/ King and Doe....and that really pisses me off! I need Snow White! show less

Nine is The Tale of Kevin Clearwater written by T.M. Frazier. It's the 9th book in the King series, but trust me when I say that it can be read as stand-alone. I had not read a single book in the series before Nine and I had no problem with all the secondary characters. If you are like me, you can easily read it. You should know though that it contains violence and a lot of weed. I swear if they could these people would offer you a join to test the product. Oh, Lenny is very fond of vodka to show more a point where I started to wonder if she is an alcoholic, but that's it.
I liked the story and the characters. They were not your average romance character and I liked that. The pace was fast and there was always something that kept me going. I began and finished the book in one sitting and I really didn't want to put it down. Nine was a dark past and it heavily led him to become the man he is today. Lenny's life took a turn for the worse when she was younger and things got very bad until her boyfriend decided to take off. That's what Nine got into her life and the romance began. It was a slow burn but it was worth it.
I did not see the twist coming. I thought I knew what was going on but I didn't. And then there was Jared's final note and it kinda made me like him. He deserved what he got, but there was a potential for redemption there. Overall, I have to say that the book was good and I had a great time reading it (of course what happened to Nine was awful and that was not good, but I think you get what I mean). show less

This book picked up where King left off. There are a lot of pieces at play in this book as the story of Doe comes to life. Doe still didn't have her memory but was in a life that didn't make sense to her. The pieces should have clicked by they just didn't. My spider senses were tingling hardcore in this book and for good reason.
Tons of action, mystery, suspense, a soulmate connection, and the perfect ending made this duet one of my favorites from this author. I loved the nail-biting show more suspense as I tried to make sense of everything, and the whopper of a twist had me bowled over in shock because I didn't see the ending coming at all.
Highly recommend. show less
