Lin Wellford

Painting Flowers on Rocks is my favourite of Lin Wellford's rock painting books. I've never been particularly fond of her painted animal rocks, but the bright colours and more geometric shapes of the flowers are both more appealing and (I've found) easier to work with. All of the projects in this book are beautiful and inspiring; however, they all seem to be fairly large and involved projects (with the possible exception of the primroses). I would have liked to have seen some smaller, show more simpler painting projects included as well. show less

nonfiction/crafts. I've seen this author's books around our public library but hadn't checked one out until now. The author does a good job demonstrating her techniques if you're already decent painter and wanting a new challenge, but if you're not artistically inclined this would be rather advanced.

We still have the most wonderful assortment of turtle doorstops from the year my son, then a cub scout, became enchanted with this book.
