Gone Primitive by Marianna Torgovnick

This book introduced me to the concept of "primitivism" which didn't evoke something clear to me before I read Marianna Torgovnick.
It's such a disturbing book... You learn more about you when you thought you were going to learn about the strangers... But WE are the strangers.
