This is a very interesting read for a kids book. I would estimate that the target age range is between 9 years old and 12 years old.

What I liked about it was that it was factual. Documenting facts as to when the first computer was born to how computers think with the binary system they are programmed to follow. Complete with a Time Table so that you can follow along through the centuries, and a glossary, children should have no problems with word association, pronunciation and where to find show more facts.

What I disliked about the book is that the wording and pictures were very oddly spaced. Also, each picture had a caption to it. So it was an easy distraction to the main text. In other words, this was ADD heaven.

Also, what would have made this book complete would have been a bibliography so that the young reader would know where to research more.

This book is about black holes and other bizarre space objects. It talks about what a black hole is, the parts of a black hole (the singularity and the accretion disk), people who study black holes, where they are located, gamma-ray bursts, worm-holes, kinds of stars, weird worlds, and other cool space things. Within these big topics, the book has features like captions and sidebars that go more in depth about people who contributed to the discovery of these things or possible questions that show more might be brought up after reading a certain section. I would use this book in my classroom as a reference book or trade book for students to use during a space unit. If students wanted more information on certain aspects of space, they could use this book. show less
This book is about the International Space Station. I liked this book because it was completely informational with lots of pictures that supported each information about the International Space Station. Similar to the Water Everywhere book, there were plenty of graphic organizers to clearly present facts and information about the book. This book is great for kids who are interested in learning about space and astronomy.
This book by David Jefferis Talks about robots that special in a way that is awesome. There good in combat. Talks about the future of technology and talks about fictional robots like ED 209 from Robocop, Amee from Red Planet and many more. If you like robots that kick butt, then this is the book for you.
