Reviews
Fields' movies are hit or miss. At their best, such as You Can't Cheat an Honest Man, they are hilarious and pretty much non-stop. At their worst, they are labored and repetitive. But this bargain-priced edition is pretty good quality for such old films, and if you haven't seen The Bank Dick or My Little Chickadee, you don't know what you're missing. The latter film is certainly one of the strangest ever made.
W.C. Fields gets a job as a bank's security guard and helps cover up embezzlement.
2.5/4 (Okay).
Fields seems like he'd probably be pretty funny, given some material. What he's not, apparently, is someone who can write a feature film.
