There is a long chapter on Francis Dashwood and his abbey doings, much meatier than anything found in Eric Towers' so-called biography - including a description of the Earl of Sandwich's characteristic lope: "as though he were trying to walk both sides of the street at the same time". There is Crowley and his rancid love-ins at his own abbey, where his five year old son, a precociously impertinent drug addict, will, as "beast number show more two" get what he wants and right now "or else." show less
