I enjoyed this book, covering an area of Lincoln's life that many modern Americans do not understand: his deeply held "liberal" or humanist views. The Texas Board of Education has many sins to answer for, and their distortion of Lincoln is a big one. He was a primitive Socialist, and any study in depth reveals this.
