Summary: This book is written for beginner readers. Although it was very simple, I thought it described taste in an accurate way and provided students with a tangible way to talk about what they tasted. I also felt like this book was a good introduction into teaching about how to use adjectives in writing.
Thoughts: I may not use this book as a teaching tool for all students, but I would like to have this series in my classroom. I think some students would find it very interesting and it is show more a good level for beginning readers.
Use/Strategy:
- Teach about adjectives
- Senses show less

This is a great informational book for children in the primary grades. It is simple and easy to read, while at the same time it is teaching about taste. The pictures within the story are helpful and add even more to the overall learning. The last page even goes into further detail about taste and the various parts that help with it like the tongue, nose and taste buds. I think it goes into enough detail so that the children show more can learn without going over their heads. show less

This book introduces the reader to all different things to smell. There are simple sentence structures and whole page images for readers to use their imagination with. This would be great for young readers, it's part of a series of sense books.
This book is about hearing and also gives different examples of noises. The story is two little kids going around hearing different types of noises through out the town. This would be a great book to have available in my classroom for students just learning the five senses. Informational book.
