This graphic novel is certainly gory and horrific and bleak and pitiless in a Lovecraftian way. The characters are drawn in a sinister way even before they fall victim one by one to the evil being which lurks beneath the snow-bound cossack village in which they find themselves stranded and hungry. The writing and pictures are moody but at times incoherent. I sometimes had difficulty distinguishing the characters and I didn't particularly care for them. Violent graphic novel in which Napoleon's soldiers are stalked by reborn figures from ancient Slavic mythology. Light on characterisation, but with a palpable sense of doom and despair.

Premise was really interesting but the art kinda fell short, story as well.
