This graphic novel is certainly gory and horrific and bleak and pitiless in a Lovecraftian way. The characters are drawn in a sinister way even before they fall victim one by one to the evil being which lurks beneath the snow-bound cossack village in which they find themselves stranded and hungry. The writing and pictures are moody but at times incoherent. I sometimes had difficulty distinguishing the characters and I didn't particularly care for them. I couldn't tell who was possessed and show more who wasn't. show less
Violent graphic novel in which Napoleon's soldiers are stalked by reborn figures from ancient Slavic mythology. Light on characterisation, but with a palpable sense of doom and despair.

Premise was really interesting but the art kinda fell short, story as well.
