An account of the dying years of the 1920's, well told. It is a good idea to see what passed as "The Good Old Days" in the eyes of the conservatives among us. I read the 1921 edition, but this is a reprint, not a new edition.
977 The Year the World Went Mad, by Allen Churchill (read 15 Nov 1968) I enjoyed this book. In Allen Churchill's New York Times obituary it was said of this book: "The same era is the subject of ''The Year the World Went Mad,'' a breathless account of 1927, which many consider the frothiest year of a frothy decade - a year in which Charles A. Lindbergh flew the Atlantic, Sacco and Vanzetti were executed and Babe Ruth hit 60 home runs."
