In this book Sid the science Kid is exploring the different materials of the book. I love how this book introduces Sid, and Sid has a problem. At school Sid tries to solve the problem by interviewing all of his classmates. Sid the science Kid is a TV show a lot of primary age students would be familiar and interested in. This could be a great book to have students read if they especially like the TV series. This book would elicit itself well to a earth science unit. This could easily be a show more featured book in a classroom library during a unit on the earth. show less
This book is a narrative about a kid who learns about germs. His mom and dad keep asking him to wash his hands so that he doesn’t get sick like his dad. He questions and questions and his teacher also teaches about germs. This is a great book to introduce to kids to talk with them about washing their hands. Especially now, with the virus going around. In the book the teacher does a lesson that involves students having dirt on their hands and not being able to get it off unless they wash show more their hands. I would integrate this into my classroom as well. I also like the experiment where you put pepper in water on a plate and have students put their finger in a little bit of soap so you can see the “germs” run away from the soap. This is a great way to help kids understand the importance of washing their hands. show less
Easy read for those who enjoy the Transformers. Kid friendly illustrations are added to a basic introduction to the Autobot characters. Based on the movie as the Autobots have to fight the decepticons...and of course prevail:)
This book is a shorter version of the chapter book, Charlotte's Web. It is given an easier story line where Wilbur, a baby pig becomes friends with an ugly spider named Charlotte. The plot is based off of the actual story, where Wilbur is a small pig who is shipped to another farm for being too small. He has difficulty making friends and is very lonely. At the end of the night he says "goodnight" and, to his surprise, he gets a response back! The next day Wilbur looks for the voice only to show more find a spider creeping down from it's web. None of the animals in the barn liked the spider because they thought she was ugly, but Wilbur didn't mind. He was only looking for a friend.
This book shows how you shouldn't judge someone based on their looks, but should look beyond what they look like and see how they are as a person.Looks aren't the only thing that matter.
