This is one of my favorite books for fat-quarter and scrap-friendly quilt patterns. I've made 2 of the quilts and I love them both. One I made with historical reproductions, another with bright contemporaries, and they both look great. I seriously love this book and would recommend it to any quilter (beginner+) looking for attractive, simple traditional patterns. The author offers several size options for each pattern and you can easily customize them, too.
I bought this book for the quilt shown on the cover (but I still haven't made one using this pattern). Some of the other patterns are also interesting, but the focus on using 5" sample squares leads to some very contrived construction methods and unnecessary waste of fabric. I have never been interested in buying sample packs containing small pieces of fabric, but this seems like it would be a good resource for those who do.
lots of fun ideas for useing your traded charm squares or scraps
