I love the dynamic between these misfits and how they "want to do good" but they're just not very good at it, except by accident. The art in this is pretty extreme so I'm sure it's a love/hate thing for most people and I loved it as something different, but I can definitely see people totally hating it.
Writing and dialogue was hilarious and the whole idea that there's a full-scale invasion of Earth happening and the Thunderbolts are only interacting with it when they have to, because they show more have other things to do like fight crime lords is great! show less

Folks seem to be split on whether or not this comic was any good. I think it comes down to if your a prequel fan (flaws and all), a Charles Soule fan, and a fan of Checchetto's art. If you are, you're in luck. This is an intriguing comic. Set between The Phantom Menace and Attack of the Clones, Obi-Wan and pre-teen Padawan Anakin are sent to investigate a distress signal on a planet that is supposed to be abandoned. The debris field around the planet is almost impossible to get through and show more they crash land. They soon find their are survivors on the planet and they are at war. In fact, the war has been going on for so long that no one knows which side actually destroyed the atmosphere by unleashing poisonous gas. We also get some flashbacks of Anakin and Palpatine working together, showing just how early Palpatine was working towards influencing Anakin to the dark side and using his power for his political gain and reign of terror. You begin to see that Anakin was questioning his apprenticeship from a young age. The turn to the dark side doesn't just come out of left field in Revenge of the Sith! The seed of doubt and internal struggle that lead to such a decision was planted long before. The characterization of Obi-Wan felt consistent with the films and Marco Checchetto art is spectacular. He creates a fully realized alien world that somehow felt fresh and new and at the same time, familiar in that Star Wars sort of way. show less
I want to like this series, I really do, but every issue just makes me hate the whole mind-wipe secret identity reset more. There's a part in here where Matt says that because he mind-wiped all his girlfriends, now they all believe they cheated on him because they were in relationships with Matt and Daredevil (who they no longer remember is the same person) at the same time. And, I just--thanks for admitting that you've now gaslighted every person you were ever intimate with who knew your show more secret identity, Matt. There are hints that he's gone through with the mind-wipe for some reason or plan he's got cooking, but ugh. What he's done to everyone in his life is NOT the action of a hero in my mind, and I hate it. I'll keep reading this series, but I'm probably going to be seething at least a little bit the entire time. show less
I've never been huge on She-Hulk but when I saw this kick ass cover art I couldn't resist checking this comic out and I am SOO GLAD I did. It was awesome and gave me a whole new appreciation for the Jade Giantess. This comic doesn't focus on She-Hulk's work with the Avengers or the Fantastic Four, instead it centers on her work as a lawyer. After getting fired for not bringing in her famous friends as clientele, She-Hulk (aka Jennifer) opens up her own practice and starts cultivating show more clients. She gets to interacts with some characters we are familiar with (Doctor Doom, Tony Stark, Daredevil, Hell Cat and more) and finds out that lawyering own her own is going to be a lot more work than she initially thought. Totally awesome, humorous, and smart, this is a must read for Marvel fans. show less
