This book details what the Bible really says about women, and does it in an easy, friendly style. For women who think that religion is friendly to them, this book is a must read. For women who have long suspected that the Bible is hostile to them, this book will be a godsend, pardon the expression. And for women who have known for a long time that the Bible was not their book, this book can provide a quick and easy reference.
A collection of essays about freethinking women who rejected traditional religion and embraced non-belief. All of these women are important, though most of them are not widely known, and they had a big impact on women's issues. Included as an appendix is a list of other freethinking women who did not make the main text, but are important enough to be included in an anthology of this sort. Conspicuous by her absense is the abrasive atheist leader, Madalyn Murray O'Hair.
