Judge Paul Pressler began his legal career as a member of the Texas Legislature in 1957. He practiced law with the firm of Vinson and Elkins for twelve years before becoming a judge of the 133rd district court in 1970. Pressler's not a great writer, but he has an interesting story. The book is certainly worth reading if you are interested in the conservative resurgence of the SBC.
