Siri for Dummies
By Marc Saltzman

The name is pretty self-explanatory but if you don’t know who or what Siri is then here is a breakdown:
Siri is a built in assistant for iPhone 4s with voice recognition capabilities that can do anything and everything you could want from a phone.

Siri and I have a love/hate relationship; I often refer to her in terms not appropriate for my blog. I am not the most tech savvy person in town so Siri would often pop up without my knowing how in the world I did show more it. So when this book came up for review I jumped at the chance, I am definitely one of those people who need it. I whipped out my handy dandy iphone gave it the evil eye for good measure and got to work. This is the first time I have read a “for Dummies” book even though there are, according to wikipedia, over 2,300 titles. I absolutely loved the way Marc Saltzman broke everything down step by step, from calling someone to emailing more than one contact at a time, he covers everything you could possibly want to know. At first I stumbled a few times and it took me a few tries to get the commands down, to no fault of Marc’s I have a southern accent and Siri apparently hates the way I speak, in the end I made it through and loved what I am now able to accomplish is such a short time with the help of this guide. Definitely worth the read if you are like me and Siri brings out the “squinty eyes of death.”

Siri is the name for the virtual assistant on iPhone. I have an iPhone that I’ve used since December of 2011, but I have not been able to utilize Siri with much success. After reading this book, I can now use my Siri with confidence. I have typed on a full keyboard most of my life, so I was thankful when I was able to get a phone with a QWERTY keyboard, so that I could enter the world of texting with some speed. Unfortunately, my thumbs don’t easily and quickly move to the tiny keyboard. show more Now, I can just talk to Siri and she does it for me. I have gotten so used to Siri, that now I resent when I cannot use my voice to text and have to slow down. This is great for people like me as well as people who just have hands and fingers that are too big to text on a tiny keyboard.

If you have an iPhone, and have not let Siri become a big part of your life, you should definitely get this book. You will be surprised at how easy it is to use and how much Siri can add to your life.

Highly outdated and not very insight in the first place. The essays in this volume are very guarded fluff pieces, a reflection of the time in which it was produced. Although I respect several of the essay authors for their accomplishments in the game industry I can not recommend this book as it verbosely says nothing.
This book outlines the many uses of Siri a voice-activated personal assistant available on iPhones and iPads. Become more organized, productive, and have more fun when you utilize this feature. Well written step-by-step instructions. Several practical applications for Siri are given throughout this book.
