Sally Byrne Woodbridge (1930–2019)

This appears to be a very useful work, with many historical maps and views of San Francisco over the years. The confusion over the author's surname (Woodbrige in many places including cover and title page, but Woodbridge in others - the latter appears to be correct) does not lend great confidence to the care in proofreading. The book was printed and bound in China, so English was probably not the first language of people who worked on it at the printers. Still, the illustrations are the show more chief value of the book, and they presumably were prepared in the United States. show less
