This may be the first and only time a comic strip has been turned into a Broadway play. Clark Gesner's "You're a Good Man Charlie Brown" did in fact play on Broadway in the late 1960s, as an amusing play with excellent music and clever lyrics.

To read the screenplay doesn't do the work justice (it fact it comes across as insipid). My low rating therefore rates the screenplay as a work being read, and is not intended as a comment on the musical itself.

Don't read the book -- see the musical show more if possible. The catchy numbers (like Snoopy's "Suppertime" and Linus' "My Blanket and Me") will linger after the thin plot has faded from memory. show less

One of the sweetest shows I have ever been in. This is the original version, though it is mostly the same as the 1999 version.
