Simple Pleasures: Soothing Suggestions and Small Comforts for Living Well Year Round by Robert Taylor
Many of the suggestions I did not find practical or did not think they were something that I would take pleasure in. The suggestions are diverse enough that I think most people (including myself) could find a few that work for them though.

This 127 page beauty was a pleasure to review. I have always had gardens in some form throughout my life, and it was a thrill to read personal stories from others who love and respect them as much as I do. There was everything from recipes, to awesome spectacular pictures with many dashes of wisdom and humor thrown in.
There were so many wonderful projects that it was hard to decide which one I would chose for show more this planting season, so I chose two. The first one is about having a wildflower garden right in my backyard, and the second one is to keep a journal of my garden complete with pics and mementos along the way. I would recommend this special find to anyone who appreciates the power of flowers. Thanks Susannah, You've done it again.

I love this book! it is packed with wonderful ideas on how to relax and get away from the hustle-and-bustle, whether you have a few minutes, hours, or days on your hands. There are also lots of delicious recipes. I can't wait to try "Nostalgic Brownies" and "Bread and Butter Pudding." The next time I go camping, I'm going to try "Bannock," (camping bread). There are ideas for the garden, such as putting in a fishpond and growing your own lavender. Ideas for the home include, livening up show more throw pillows with old scarves, making potpourri, and creating a tabletop waterfall.
I like the arrangement of the book. It is divided into four sections: Spring, Summer, Fall, and Winter. These are further divided into four sections each: "Home," "Garden and the Great Outdoors," "Body and Soul," and "Family and Friends."
Throughout the book are inspirational quotes, like this one from Laura Ingalls Wilder:
"I am beginning to learn that it is the sweet, simple things of life which are the real ones after all." (p. 133) show less

There were some helpful hints in this book, I already take yoga classes twice a week but I don't use the poses in the morning like it suggests in this book so that was helpful. Others were common sense take more vitamins and some were herbal remedies. However, I did end up with 6 pages of notes/ideas so yes this was a helpful book. Now to see if I take any of advise!
