There is going to be a competition among some choirs, including that of the Eternal Hope Community Church. Young Amy Cantrell is supposed to be singing a solo, but she collapses during a practice session. I hope any parents reading this book will learn a lesson from the big mistake Amy Cantrell's parents made -- a mistake that could cost their daughter her life. Can Gracie Parks solve the mystery before the competition?
Looks at the life of the young woman who had 5 husbands and talked to Jesus. Ties her story into that of the healing of the 10 lepers. Very nicely done with insights to the conditions of women at the time of Jesus.
The puzzles are fair, but the characters will appeal mostly to "Guideposts" readers. The mystery isn't bad, and there is the advantage of suitability for younger readers as an introduction to the genre.

So-so mysteries featuring a woman who sings in a church choir; no bloodshed whatsoever, just minor problems vexing community members. Normally I like to read all the books in a series once I discover a new author, but in this instance I don't feel compelled to hunt up any other books this woman has written. She tends to drag in thoughts out of nowhere, it seems, and it is also hard to keep track of people in her stories as she tends to mention them once and then not refer to them again for show more several chapters, at which point she only uses the first name and you are supposed to remember to whom she is referring. show less
