An authoritative overview of Classical Latin literature, covering just about any author or work of significance. I haven't come across another literary reference book which equals this in terms of (1) comprehensiveness, (2) focusing on the works rather than some broader scheme or narrative, (3) including an extensive and opinionated bibliography, including editions, translations, and commentaries. I have tried and failed to find a book like this for Greek literature, and my pipe dream would show more be something like this for post-classical Latin. Highly recommended. show less
