I enjoyed this book for a couple of reasons. The book included some classic moral sayings that were woven into the storyline. These sayings are ones that children may here their parents say but never quite understood; such as, "Don't judge a book by it's cover" and "you don't know someone until you walk a mile in their shoes." Janet Ahearn was able to put meaning to these classic sayings with as simple, cute story. I also liked the book because the characters were very relatable. One of the show more main characters, Paul, used language that would really connect with children. For instance, when Paul's Grandma told him a classic phrase about flies and honey, and Paul thought "I had no idea what Grandma was talking about." The big idea of this book was to not judge someone by a first impression, with an underlying message of the effects of bullying. show less
