This book was recommended by a favorite author and holy cow, it's one of the best dark and dangerous romances I've read in a long time. The secrets are damaging and perilous. The attraction is carnal and duplicitous. The deal is regrettable.

Quinn and Lucky are certainly hiding a lot of emotional baggage from each other. Their stories are very tragic and messed up and it's no wonder they trust no one. They are survivors that truly deserve happiness.

I recommend this complex and dark romance with dual roles, masked BDSM, and tortured souls. Yum! show less

Wow, wow, wow, with a side of holy hell.

I went into this book, after checking out the blurb, and was expecting it to be hot, full of tension and riddled with angst. I was not let down. Not only do we have all of the above, but a raw passion starts to develop and with it comes the thrill of unearthing skeletons.

I love the characters in this book. They were exactly what they said they were. Each had their own ways and personality, and they stuck to that throughout. I like this, along with the show more depth and characteristics, physically, that each character was given. I found it very easy to tune out from my world and become part of theirs. Warning, it is steamy there, be prepared to take off a few layers ;).

The pace of this read was perfectly matched with the story. It was fast, raw and honest, keeping me on my toes. There were twist upon twists, often leaving me thinking of a few strong words, wondering what just happened. You don't get lost in the turns, you just don't expect the spanner the author throws in the works. I must say, each one is brilliant.

The thought that went into providing the detail for the worl, story and characters is part of what made this book a five star read for me. Everything was clear and tjought through. It was real, believable and essay to connect with.

Overall, this was an excellent read that keeps you excited and hungry for more.

This books focuses around Lucky who is a slip of a girl running from her past and gets tangled up with the elusive Q in exchange for money. There is plenty of angst with equal amounts of love scenes which I adored and plots galore occur which I won't spoil for you. I'm off to read the next book in the series.

Twenty-five-year-old Arabella (Rebel) Daniels (a champion skier) goes to meet her father where he works as a CFO/accountant at the Angel International Group to have a talk with him. They've been estranged and she hasn't seen him for years but recently she received a letter from him with a bankers receipt for 500,000 pounds deposited into her bank account. While waiting for her father she does some yoga to relieve the tension and meets Draco Angelis, who runs the place. He wants to kick her show more out because she's distracting his employees but he eventually finds out who she is. Draco believes a half million pounds disappeared from his company's accounts and he's positive her father is to blame. He thinks Arabella is in on it with her father and he wants the money back immediately. But Arabella has already spent the money to pay for her next champion ski run. Threatening to turn her and her absent father in to the police Draco and Arabella make a deal. Arabella will be his pretend fiancée for the next three months and Draco won't press charges. After a lot of bickering and arguing Arabella agrees, she has no other choice.

Arabella was a feisty heroine and a bit snarky at times. She liked listening to loud rock music when she was stressed, much to Draco's frustration. She has been estranged from her father for many years (since her mother died) because he blames Arabella for her mother's death.

Draco is a super-agent who sponsors sports figures. He was once a five-time world champion skier but his career ended when he was forced to quit due to a knee injury.

This book was a bit slow in the first half. I enjoyed the sports-related storyline but I thought Draco acted like a real jerk towards Arabella after he found out the details about Arabella's mother's death near the end of the book. And though this couple had good sexual chemistry, I didn't feel the love between these two. show less
